What it looks like on the site
The partnerships page explains what each format costs and includes. This page shows how each one looks to a reader, with real pages where we have them and a rendered example where we do not have a live partner yet.
1. Editorial mention (not an option, not for sale)
Open our Dutch banking guide for expats. Several providers in that guide have no commercial arrangement with us at all: plain, unmeasured links, no commission button. They are assessed exactly like the providers we do have an arrangement with.
2. Affiliate partnership through a network: Wise, fully listed
Wise runs through an affiliate network. It currently appears in over two hundred articles on merit, and everywhere it appears it has a button. This is what that looks like:
- In a guide: the same banking guide. The disclosure sits above the article; Wise has commission buttons with
rel="sponsored", the providers without an arrangement do not. - In a tool: the bank account chooser. Where the result points to Wise, the button is there.
- In a data page: the salary comparison by city and sector, where Wise appears in the money-transfer context.
- In the partner overview: on affiliate disclosure, Wise is listed among the providers we have a commission arrangement with.
The network measures clicks and sign-ups and settles; we build nothing extra. A network partner gets exactly the same treatment as a Listing Plus partner; the only difference is that the fee runs per click or sign-up through the network instead of as a fixed annual amount.
3. Listing Plus (€350 per year): everything above, plus the provider block
A Listing Plus partner gets exactly what you see above for Wise: a button at every mention, in guides, comparisons, rankings and tools, in existing articles and in articles we publish later, and a place in the partner overview. Two things differ. The top of the article states that it contains a paid listing instead of commission links, and a provider block is added. The fee is a fixed annual amount paid to us instead of an amount per click or sign-up through the network.

With a real partner the three images are real screenshots supplied by the provider, and we check every line of the fact card against the provider’s own sources before publication. The block sits below the article, above the related articles, in every guide and comparison where the service appears on merit.
4. Sponsored article (€195): live example
A sponsored article sits alongside our guides, never inside them, and carries the label Sponsored at the top. The topic is agreed in advance, the provider supplies the facts, we write and edit it in our house style and check every claim. It contains no verdict from us and does not count towards any ranking or score.
Live example on our Dutch sister site Bedrijfssoftwaregids: a sponsored article about importing PayPal, Stripe and credit-card statements, online since 31 August 2026. It has the same layout as a regular article and is recognisable as sponsored at every point. It is indexed and found like any other page: on 10 September 2026 it was the first Google result for the Dutch query “paypal stripe importeren in je boekhouding” and was cited as a source in Google’s AI overview. Rankings change, so that is a snapshot, not a promise.

What none of the formats includes
A position, a verdict or any influence on our text. Whether a service goes into a comparison is decided on relevance for the reader; that applies to network partners and Listing Plus partners alike. Questions or an agreement: info@expatnetherlandshub.com.
