In this guide

We get partnership requests most weeks — banks, insurers, telecom providers, relocation agencies, and the PR and linkbuilding agencies working on their behalf. Rather than answering the same questions by email every time, here is exactly what is possible on this site, what it costs, and what is not for sale at any price.

What is never for sale

Some things simply cannot be bought here:

  • Positions in comparisons and rankings. Where a service ends up in a comparison depends on what it does for expats in the Netherlands, not on whether it pays us.
  • Editorial verdicts. Nobody gets to approve, soften, or veto what we conclude about their service.
  • Links inside existing editorial articles. We do not sell link insertions into published guides, and we do not swap them either. If a link belongs in an article on merit, we add it ourselves and nobody has to pay for it.
  • Inclusion in a comparison. Whether a service appears in a comparison is an editorial decision. No option on this page buys it, but it is not ruled out either: we take your documentation into account at the next update.

Every service is assessed the same way, with or without a commercial relationship. Payment is never tied to the outcome of a review. How we build a comparison, and which criteria we use, is set out in how our comparisons are made.

Listing Plus — €350 excl. VAT per year

Listing Plus is meant for providers that are not signed up with an affiliate network and do not want to set one up. Instead of paying per click, you pay a fixed annual fee, and we make sure that wherever your service already appears on merit, readers can click through and see properly documented facts.

What it includes:

  • A button at every mention where your service already appears on merit — in guides, comparison tables, rankings and overviews, in existing articles and in articles we publish later. The top of the article states that it contains a paid listing, so readers know where they stand.
  • A provider block in guides and comparisons where your service appears: your logo, two to four screenshots you supply, and a fact card with the key facts of the service (for example plans, prices, eligibility, limits and support languages) that we check against your own sources before publication.
  • Promotion and deal mentions in pricing sections while a promotion runs and we can verify it.
  • An annual fact check: once a year we go through the fact card with you and you supply the changes.

What it does not include, explicitly: no position, no verdict and no say in the text. Is your service not in a comparison yet? Then we take your documentation into account at the next update of that comparison; whether it goes in is decided on relevance for the reader, not on the agreement. That applies to Listing Plus partners and network partners alike. As soon as the service appears in an article on merit, it automatically gets the button and the provider block there.

Terms: 12 months, invoiced in advance. No automatic renewal: towards the end of the term we ask you whether you want to continue. Combined with a sponsored article, the first year is €500 excl. VAT (article plus twelve months of Listing Plus).

What it looks like on the site: the examples page shows the provider block rendered with an example provider, next to a network partner that is fully listed across our guides and a live sponsored article. What is certain: the provider block uses the same layout as our own fact boxes and it sits alongside our own assessment rather than replacing it.

Two formats in which you speak for yourself. Both are visibly labelled, both sit outside our comparisons, and both cost €195 excl. VAT.

Sponsored article. A standalone article about your service.

  • Clearly labelled Sponsored at the top of the page.
  • All links in it carry rel="sponsored".
  • The topic has to fit the site — something expats in the Netherlands actually deal with. We can and do decline topics that do not.
  • We keep final editorial control and can decline a proposal. Unsupported claims, invented figures and hard guarantees do not go in.
  • The article stays online for at least 12 months; extension after that is negotiable.
  • For a first collaboration, payment is upfront.

Provider Q&A. We ask ten fixed, critical questions — the same ten for every provider who takes this up. Things like: what does it cost for a single person and for a family, what happens to your money or your data if you leave the Netherlands, what does the service not do, and where does it run into trouble in practice. We publish your answers unedited, with a visible label saying this is a paid provider Q&A, and with our own note underneath wherever an answer is incomplete or does not match what we see. We cut nothing and add nothing inside your text; we only put our own paragraph next to it. Here too: it is not a review and it does not count in a comparison.

No sponsored article or Q&A has been published yet, so we cannot show a live example — once the first one is up, we will link it here. What is certain: the layout is the same as our regular articles, with a clear label above it.

An expert article or guest contribution is published in this format: as a labelled sponsored article, on its own for €195 or together with Listing Plus for €500 excl. VAT in the first year.

Two hard limits. Neither format is ever presented as an editorial review, and neither counts in a comparison or ranking. If your service also appears in one of our comparisons, it appears there on merit alone.

Affiliate partnership through a network

If you want to pay per click or per conversion, we set that up through an affiliate network or the provider’s own partner programme only, with their measurement. If you are with Daisycon, AWIN, Impact, PartnerStack or TradeTracker, we apply to your programme and their measurement and terms apply. If you are with none of them, Awin Access or Daisycon can be arranged within a week — or you choose Listing Plus.

What it gets you:

  • Commission links at every mention where your service already appears on merit, including articles we publish later.
  • Measurement, reporting and invoicing through the network, so there is no separate agreement with us about numbers.
  • Promotion and deal mentions where relevant.

What it does not change: position, verdict or wording. Commission rates are not an editorial criterion here.

What it looks like on the site: the same banking guide — the providers we have an arrangement with have commission buttons and the page carries a disclosure. Compare them with the untracked mentions and you see exactly what a partnership changes: the measurability and the disclosure, never the verdict.

We record what sits behind every link, and it is visible from the outside:

  1. A plain link. A reference to a provider, source or pricing page with no arrangement behind it. No marking, no payment.
  2. A commission link. A link we may earn from if you sign up or buy, through an affiliate network. Carries rel="sponsored", and the page shows a disclosure.
  3. A paid listing (Listing Plus). A button or provider block the provider pays a fixed annual fee for. The link carries rel="sponsored" and the top of the article states that it contains a paid listing.

The marking follows our own record of commercial arrangements: if an arrangement is on file, the marking is there. The full explanation is in our affiliate disclosure.
